The New Deadpool 2 trailer Shows off Josh Brolin as Cable
While Deadpool 2 didn’t release a trailer during Super Bowl LII last Sunday, a new Deadpool 2 trailer came out of nowhere today from 20th Century Fox, showcasing Josh Brolin as Cable, the juiced-up mercenary son of X-Men Scott Summers and Jean Grey clone Madelyne Pryor, coming from the future and made his first appearance in The New Mutants #87 back in 1990.
The new Deadpool 2 trailer starts off dark and broody, appearing to be a gritty introduction to the cybernetically enhanced time traveler, but then Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) pauses the footage when he notices Cable’s arm hasn’t been fully CGI’d. Taking a dig at the Justice League film, he says “It’s a metal arm, it’s not like we’re trying to remove a moustache!”
The second half of the new Deadpool 2 trailer features a ton of new footage that you’re definitly going to want to take a closer look at. And because we don’t want to spoil anything for you, you should check out the full video below:
If you didn’t already know, Fox moved Deadpool 2’s release date forward by two weeks 18 May 2018, opening a week ahead of Disney-Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. And Brolin has signed a deal to play Cable in at least three more films, one of which will be an upcoming X-Force film.
The new Deadpool 2 tralier is fantastic, and if this is how the entire marketing campaign is going to be, then we can’t wait to see more.
Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch (Atomic Blonde). The cast also includes Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, and Brianna Hildebrand reprising their roles from Deadpool, while Zazie Beetz joins the cast as Cable’s partner Domino.
