The New Hot 5 | Jazz for Cows

Video: Jazz For Cows

Even cows recognise that jazz is good music.

An American jazz band called ‘The New Hot 5‘ are on their way to internet fame after performing in France to an enthralled but unlikely audience… a herd of cows. When one of the members of the New Orleans-style jazz band began to play ‘When the Saints Go Marching In,’ to a field of cows in Autrans, France, the cows gathered to watch the performance.

By the time the rest of the band joined in, the entire herd had formed a line and was jangling their cowbells to the music. You can check out the video below, which has received over 100,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded a couple of weeks ago:

The New Hot 5 ensemble, who have been performing since 2009, includes Steve Call on tuba, Clark Burnside on clarinet, Daniel Henderson on trumpet, Will Kimball on trombone, and Joshua Payne on banjo, specialises in the music of Louis Armstrong, Sydney Bechet, Jelly Roll Morton, and other classic jazz legends.

The band has informed their YouTube fans that they are considering marketing on iTunes and other download sites.
