So what can I say about Gears of War 3 that you don’t already know? Well, I’ll start from what I’m sure you’re already aware of, Gears 3 is the latest installment in the Gears of War franchise, with a campaign twice the size of Gears 2, an improved Horde mode known to all fellow Gears as “Horde 2.0”, a very nice and welcome improvement indeed.
The game also sports a new gameplay mode called “Beast Mode”. There’s not really much to go on right now, because [Producer] Epic has kept this pretty close to the vest, so my guess is we’re gonna have to wait till launch to find out more.
With a multiplayer mode that is the very successful offspring of Gears 1 & 2, and in my personal opinion probably one of the greatest experiences I’ve had on my Xbox 360, Gears 3’s multiplayer looks to be the best of the best. The combat is fast & frantic, and the movements are smooth & polished, unlike the multiplayer mistake that is Gears 2… So sad.
Apart from that sad memory, Gears 3 looks to be if it’s not already, one of the most anticipated 360 titles this year has to offer, I’ve already pre-ordered my copy and I don’t think that I have to ask the rest of you about yours. I plan on being outside my local GameStop at the midnight release to pick up my copy.
