No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky is Minecraft on Crack

The guys that made Joe Danger have made a BIG step up with this title.

Now, I know I’m not the only one on this planet that loves an open-world game. Something about being able to go out into a vast world and explore every inch of it just screams awesome and amazing, if it’s done right, and it is my firm belief that No Man’s Sky is going to without a doubt deliver. It is, however, a PlayStation exclusive, so do keep that in mind.

Now with that said, do you like Minecraft? Do you love open-world games? If you answered no to any of those questions then why are you still reading this? You have wasted my time and yours. But on the off chance you said yes, then No Man’s Sky is for you.

What is No Man’s Sky? Think of it like Minecraft on crack. You start off in the middle of a randomly-generated galaxy, then you can jump into your ship and take off and explore the planet. One of my favorite things about this game is the fact that you can seamlessly fly off into orbit and return to the planet’s surface with no load times. On top of that, there are billions of other galaxies out there that you can find. Each galaxy has it’s own solar system with its own planets (obviously).

Another thing that I love about it is that this game it is really explore-heavy. If you happen to come across a planet that no one has ever found before, your name or your PSN will be tagged to it, so if anyone else happens to come across the planet you found it will literally have your name on it. There are other little things about each planet you discover. Each one has its own living and breathing ecosystem where you can go and discover new plant life, and you can use minerals and other resources to buy upgrades for your ship or for yourself or use it to buy a new ship.

Whatever you want to do the choice is yours, not to mention you can get into interstellar space battles with random ships that happen to warp into orbit. This is a truly ambitious title for Hello Games, the guys that made Joe Danger (big step up right?), but I think they have what it takes to pull it off.

There’s no release date set for No Man’s Sky just yet but I’m pretty sure we will keep you updated. I for one can not wait until this game ships — I definitely plan on having my PS4 by then — I would hope you have yours too.

I can’t wait to go out there and make my discoveries right along with everyone, discovering new animals, new planets and hell, even new galaxies. So strap on that space suit and make sure your ship is fueled up properly, because this is going to be a trip you don’t want to miss. See you star side.
